the testimony found in both the Old and New Testaments, as well as in the Christian Church that God is both One and Triune. The biblical revelation testifies that there is only one God and that He is eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- God the Father
God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things, and He created the universe in love. He created man in His own image for fellowship and called man back to Himself through Christ after the rebellion and fall of man.
- The Son
Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Him all things were made. For man’s redemption, He left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary; henceforth, He is forever one Christ with two natures—God and man—in one person.
- The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament and given to the Church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The Holy Spirit resides in every believer to help transform their lives into the image of Christ. He also gives gifts (endowments) to every believer to use in the building/edifying of the Church. The Holy Spirit illuminates scripture, counsels and convicts the believer toward a life of holiness.
comprised of the Old and New Testaments, and is the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and that its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct. Our preaching and teaching is solely based upon the Word of God.
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, not made, of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made John 1:1-14
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified. John 3:14-17
We believe that all scripture is inspired by God, and is the authority for the Christian life. 2 Timothy 3:14-17
We believe in conversion, which is the renewal of life at its deepest level, through repentance and trust in the forgiveness of Christ. Acts 2:36-39
We believe that salvation places us in the church, all member of the Body of Christ. Acts 2:47
We believe in Christian holiness, that is the commitment to become Christ-like in our actions, attitudes, words, and thoughts. Romans 12:1-2
We associate with the Church of God
We are a congregation associated with the Church of God (Anderson, IN), a movement which appeared in the 1880s American Holiness Revival. The following statements reflect some of our heart-felt convictions as a church movement:
SALVATION makes us members of God's church. The church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or organization, but by committing our lives to Christ. John 3:1-7
UNITY We believe that God calls all followers of Christ to live in unity and peace, regardless of who they are or the church they attend (Gal. 3:28). While we may not agree on everything, we can rally around our subject, JESUS.
HOLINESS We believe that followers of Christ have been called to live a life of love, purity, and godliness. We are called to live like Christ, taking on a new nature (2 Cor. 5:17).
